Happy Camper for Monday, December 21, 2020

Santa as Elsa of Disney’s “Frozen” fame? Do they even make dresses in that plus size? There were Santa sightings galore during the final weekend before Christmas rolls in Friday.

Santa surprised Paul Horner and the Grove Farm Museum ‘ohana night (nope, too threatening weather for Scott Johnson to bring out the trains), where Sharron Weber definitely showed up for some of the free hot chocolate (goes real good with those Mabel Wilcox — she was definitely smiling in that glorious sunset — cookies).

Santa trucked that cart laden with giveaways during The Shops at Kukui‘ula Super Saturday (free Lappert’s breakfast?), where Arianna Taylor got to hear Santa’s stage saga following her last Koloa Hurricanes’ game, and Ema and Caden Miguel were more interested in frolicking in the snow (what? If we had a mister going, that would’ve been Saturday night bath).

Kudos to Kaua‘i’s two food banks on the holiday food distributions — Kelvin Moniz said it never rainbows (let alone rain) in Kaumakani, and Wes Perreira was balancing traffic at the Kaua‘i Philippine Cultural Center in Puhi before watching the popcorn (Chyenne Beach is high tech about scanning the oil for its nutritional contents) at the Rice Street Business Association drive-in movie, where families of the Lihu‘e Baseball League (yes, Bradley Chiba and Wes, we remember Buster and Yuta Matsumura baseball) could extend their day outing in the park.
