Kudos to Samira Siale (she even got husband Tyrus Siale to come and help out) and the Hawai‘i Lodging &Tourism Association Kaua‘i Branch on a sold-out (and then some) golf tournament that enjoyed a sunny shotgun start Saturday at the Hokuala Ocean Course in Lihu‘e.
Perennial golf tournament participant Sharron Weber of Tire Warehouse (she even got James Pratt — he had a one-year growth spurt — to wear the Tire Warehouse cap) brought out the entire Pratt ‘ohana, with mom Carol and dad Sam.
State Rep. James Tokioka (oh yes, son Pono Tokioka works at Enterprise Rent-A-Car) was cruising the field of golf carts, and club pro Kellie Hines had her big guns out for the briefing that ended with a plug for 40% discount in the pro shop. Check it out, it might still be going on.
Over at Puhi Park Produce (does the horn blower always wear green?), all of the fishermen vendors must’ve enjoyed good days on the ocean (which night was the no-fishing moon?), and the line overflowed to the Nonaka Farm (love those identifying banners that keep growing at all the farmers’ markets) where you could go back to the Mike’s Cafe days with the special Dean Nonaka-recipied baked goods…no need to go west of Kalaheo for those half moons (Clyde Kodani succumbed to the coconut ones).
And kudos to the Kaua‘i Senior Softball on another week of great action and fun (who was talking about lunch?), and being COVID-19 safe. This weekend, action moves to Puhi Park (no wonder the ‘Ohana Rebels got the bye last week, they needed to get the home field ready) and Wailua Houselots Park starting at 9 a.m.
