Happy Camper for Monday, March 13, 2023

Dickie Chang (everyone wants to know about your Chinese restaurant) served as the emcee on Saturday during the Kaua‘i Federal Credit Union annual membership meeting (that’s why the Fun and Kwazy rides and inflatable house were at the Kaua‘i Philippine Cultural Center, Bridget Orsatelli), where Mayor Derek S.K. Kawakami joined the credit union’s family of staff, board members and volunteers in enjoying lunch and watching a lot of the sold-out audience’s members get prizes.

Larry Feinstein, of the Kaua‘i Beer Company, had his friends Ahnyca Queseda and Foster Lee, of The Village Kaua‘i food truck, come to the Downtown Lihu‘e Night Market on Kress Street on Saturday that coincided with the start of Fitness Week at Kalena Park and the Bikes on Rice slow ride.

Bev Brody and Alyssa Miyake of Get Fit Kaua‘i are excited about the week of free activities for a healthy and active lifestyle (anybody doing anything on Wednesday when Bev said they’ll be doing TRX at Kalena Park?) that will end on Saturday (a lot of Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation sporting events are on spring break), when the Girl Scouts (are they going to have some Girl Scout cookies available?) have an animal dance party.

Edwin Vea of the Beach House restaurant said they’re taking advantage of spring break to host a craft fair on Sunday with another full house of 40 vendors from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the restaurant’s lawn located across from the Lawa‘i Beach Resort (go early before parking disappears).
