Happy Camper for Monday, October 21, 2019

Beau and Jordan Hannafious of Rainbeau Jo’s had a lot of reason to be excited, Thursday — International Credit Union Day! Janice Bond (did she foot the bill for the Daylight Donuts?) said Rainbeau Jo’s is ranked No. 11 on Buzzfeed (they’re a social media site) and the only one from Hawaii to get a Yelp rating on that site.

Beau was excited to see Trysen Kaneshige and Seth Womble (they’re both Kauai mural artists!) working on the Can mural on the Kiibo Restaurant wall (Rainbeau Jo’s closes ahead of lunch at Kiibo), and Beau is excited about moving his credit union from Washington state after seeing Janice at the Kauai Teachers Federal Credit Union, which had not only free baked goodies (Anne Rivera said she was feeling pretty good after visiting two credit unions), but set up its members for a big tent sale outside the entrance.

Just down the road (is that the first one Anne went to visit?), the Kauai Government Employees Federal Credit Union had free lunch for its members on International Credit Union Day, and Myrvie Buster was missing out on the Garden Island Federal Credit Union festivities because she was a lunch mentor at the Girls Summit (Edie Ignacio Neumiller said she needed to coordinate the mentors) being held at Wilcox Medical Center Thursday.

Some of the Waimea High School delegates at the summit had to come back to town for the Kauai Interscholastic Federation bowling that was taking place just up the street from Truck Stop Thursday at the Kauai Beer Company on Rice Street where Rodney Sagucio of Shaka Burgers inaugurated his first spicy burger challenge (more than one million scoville?!?).
