What’s with all that colored hair (Mary Ann Ornellas of Malia Kai — it’s upstairs of the former City Liquor building — said the colored eyes and vampire teeth for Halloween are good sellers!) by the scorer’s table at the Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation air riflery matches at Clem Gomes Gym on Saturday?
The Menehune marksmen were celebrating Masao Fontana’s “Senior Night” on Saturday where parents of Kaua‘i High School shooters were lamenting the loss of good eating places because the kids didn’t want to take over the legacy created by their parents … only Hamura’s Saimin left in the Lihu‘e area … OK, so now to find out who Richard Palacio is who led the Menehune to victory over the Kaua‘i High school boys’ bowling team?
Kudos to everyone (!!!) who had a hand in lending excitement to Kaua‘i High School’s Homecoming Week … there was the Opening Night of the new Kaua‘i High School gym (Kaleo Carvalho of the mayor’s office should’ve stepped in as the Mayor Derek S.K. Kawakami substitute), the Keiki Aloha, Kai Aloha ocean education event coordinated in part by the Kaua‘i Lifeguard Association (wow! even Noah Hamilton was participating!), and the Homecoming parade where the Wilcox Elementary School kids (yes, even the Lihu‘e Patriots Pop Warner Association!) overflowed the plate of community family offerings … the westside business organizations are inviting families to their annual pumpkin giveaways on Oct. 7 at Kekaha Neighborhood Center at 11 a.m (wonder if Aloun Farms is going to be there, again).
