Happy Camper for Saturday, April 13, 2024

About the only thing that did not get canceled or postponed because of the Thursday night storm was the Friday Night Art in Hanapepe whose organizers came on the radio especially to let people know the event was on.

Hawai‘i Foodbank Kaua‘i Impact Manager Tisha Remigio said they’ll be doing a free food distribution on Monday (isn’t that Tax Day, too?) as part of the Downtown Lihu‘e Health Clinic Pop Up at Lihu‘e Christian Church.

A collaborative effort between the Lihu‘e Christian Church and the Rice Street Business Association (Is the Downtown Lihu‘e Night Market still happening, tonight?), the Hawai‘i Foodbank Kaua‘i will be giving away food during the distribution (first-come, first-served, and no drive-thru) from 10 a.m. to noon … and what’s this Box Lunch Talk Story about?

The Ho‘ola Lahui mobile clinic, and its affiliated followers (Project Vision and the Department of Education outreach were with the clinic crew on Wednesday during the YWCA of Kaua‘i open house) will be offering health checkups from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Bart Thomas said we have an extra week to buy golf balls for the golf ball drop that is part of the Rockin’ Range event at the Hokuala driving range to benefit the Special Olympics program (Leona Sa said Lisa Aki is taking care of the registrations, and Bart said everything is moved back a week because of the rains.) There’s still time before April 19 when the helicopter lands early, so Special Olympics athletes can get photos with the chopper.
