Happy Camper for Saturday, December 9, 2023

In the time when everyone is shopping until dropping, Edwin Vea said there are at least 50 vendors, who are going to be available on Sunday when The Beach House restaurant hosts its final craft fair before Christmas from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. close to the Prince Kuhio Park.

Before then, we have the county’s Office of Economic Development, Kaua‘i Made program, presenting the Holly Jolly event at Sheraton Kaua‘i at Coconut Beach on Saturday from 9 a.m.

The Salvation Army Major George Rodriguera said the Angel Tree Day for Receiving is Saturday. But because of the demand for Angel Tree gifts, Walmart has extended the deadline by allowing the Angel Tree to remain up for an additional week to accommodate late-comers.

Kudos to the county’s Employee Council (they’re one of the community partners with Royal Sonesta Kaua‘i Resort in presenting the free monthlong Royal Holiday, too!) for helping the Angel Tree with at least 60 gift requests. Priti Maya Tayal of Hale ‘Opio (she had help from the Rotary Club of Kapa‘a, and the Zonta Club of Hanalei during the community health event on Friday) said the Employee Council also helped them with gifts for their clients.

Don’t forget the motorcycle riders of Kaua‘i (yes, even the Garden Isle Racing Association bikers were talking about this) host their annual Toys for Keiki ride on Sunday fronting the historic County Building, where the late Russell Haluapo used to collect toys for keiki in need.
