Happy Camper for Saturday, May 18, 2024

Congratulations to TJ Shigemoto of Hawai‘i Gas on getting his master’s degree in business after two years of work at the University of Hawai‘i at Manoa. His mom, April Shigemoto, who is retired from the Department of Education, said the degree also earned TJ a promotion in Hawai‘i Gas.

Mahalo to the Contractors Association of Kaua‘i, who helped TJ with a scholarship during his two-year journey toward the master’s degree.

Saint Theresa School Principal Wendy Castillo (she was busy in the Saint Catherine Carnival flying saucer tent) is happy with her bottle of Morrow’s Hawaiian Honey from Kahalu‘u … that’s an indication that Peter Morrow of Playscapes had a hand in getting the school’s play structure up and running for the “learners” to enjoy after the Saint Theresa Carnival, and the new play structure at Kalena Park (Larry Feinstein of the Kaua‘i Beer Company said the park has been very busy since the blessing).

With the announced closing of Saint Catherine School in Kapa‘a, Wendy said Saint Theresa is still room for more students before the school reaches its capacity.

Don’t forget, Edwin Vea and The Beach House Restaurant will be holding its monthly craft fair on Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. … the weather people are forecasting clearing of all this unstable weather by Sunday.
