Happy Camper for Sunday, April 28, 2019

Annette Hashimoto was happy that participants at the Kauai Chamber of Commerce Women Leading with Impact Symposium had ample time to browse through the offerings of the vendors (one of them even won a giveaway prize!) set up between the panel discussions and breakout sessions led by Kauai’s women.

Kudos to Mark Perriello, Carol Texeira and Anna Baudouin on organizing such a, in the words of Annette, “powerful” event Thursday at Kauai Beach Resort near Hanamaulu (Nelson Batalion was anticipating the charity walk pancake breakfast fundraiser), where progress on its hale is moving right along.

Ashley Nagaoka had a chance to come home, and kudos to Ann Hashisaka on getting U.S. Sen. Mazie Hirono to visit and talk story with Ashley doing the moderating.

Kellie Hines and Hua Duncan even had a table representing the Hokuala Golf Club for those looking for, as Hirono put it, “Trumpless Sundays.”

One of the stops Hirono made on her Kauai tour was to visit Marly Madayag’s class at the Kalaheo School, and did she get to see the jewelry designs using “beach trash” created by Liliana Estep at the chamber symposium?

Okay, moving along, get ready to check out the Kauai Museum May Day lei contest coming up, Wednesday, May 1, from 11 a.m. (just in time for lunch by Chef Guy Higa and his Kauai Marriott culinary crew) at the Kauai Marriott Resort &Beach Club. The event benefits the Kauai Museum, too.
