Happy Camper for Sunday, Aug. 29, 2021

Congratulations to the Garden Isle Quilters: Julie Fregeau, Jeni Hardy, Lea Ingram, Lesley Morris and Toni Wass (she had a birthday on opening night!), on a great exhibit and sale (this was only their second event in two years) at the Kaua‘i Society of Artists gallery at Kukui Grove Center in Lihu‘e!

Meanwhile, kudos to that McDonald’s team (Florence Gomez of the ‘Ele‘ele store, Debbie Palpal-Latoc of the Waipouli store and Jeff Gambeng of the Lihu‘e store) for bringing the whole island together on one table at the county’s Ho‘ohana Kaua‘i Job Fair.

Kaua‘i P0lice Department Sgt. Bobby Thompson got to do two days along with the Kaua‘i Coffee team (nope, haven’t seen Daniel Momohara since he retired), and the Army National Guard, Unlimited Construction and ‘Ohana Pacific Health. Time to get ready to visit Jill Lowry and Anaina Hou Community Park’s North Shore Career Fair that opens at the Porter Pavilion in Kilauea Monday at 2 p.m.

Mahalo, Janice Bond, for hosting Mark Perriello and his visiting mom, Diana Ryder, to lunch at Duke’s Canoe Club on Kalapaki Beach (the real Duke’s birthday was Aug. 24), where she got to see the reunion of first responders and Dr. Deedee Wu and her family, of New Jersey.
