Go, Kaysha Mata (she was at the Little Pea Holiday event last week with mom and Randon Welch) of Kaysha Designs, who was part of that full house of vendors at the Aloha (imagine the island of Kaua‘i in place of the “o”) event on Friday at the Kekaha Neighborhood Center. Kudos to all those creative minds from the Kekaha School and the landfill!) where Hoku’s had a long line for the prime rib special!
Veronica Kanahele is the “Queen of the Waffle Dog” (it’s the same kine they had at the Grove Farm bon dance!), and Dawn O’Brien (her “Aloha Allova” was free to the keiki!) was dying to break away from emcee-ing to check out all the local grinds at the place where the Waimea High School students brought “Santa’s Village” to the masses. Dawn, and a couple of the bands were dealing with all the traffic heading West.
OK, Kaysha. Kekaha is pau (was only Friday!), Kumu Hula Leina‘ala Pavao Jardin and Halau Ka Lei Mokihana O Leina‘ala are still open at their pop up until 4 p.m. on Sunday. You might get lucky and meet up with Robert Cazimero, too, and Miss Hawai‘i Filipina 2023 Xarika Casticimo is one of the performers helping Kumu Leina‘ala.
And, if that’s not enough, don’t forget the Wailua Creators’ Fair that is open from 8:30 a.m. (gotta get those malasadas early!) at the Hilton Garden Inn Kaua‘i Wailua Bay (they’re still collecting for the Toys for Tots until Dec. 18. Larry Feinstein said the motorcycle riders are doing the Toy Run early today.
