Happy Camper for Sunday, December 5, 2021

Happy Born (that’s Lexi Jones’ terminology) Day, Krystl Apeles, who spent her day working on getting the Alakoko Store ready for some Kaua‘i Made vendors to occupy when the Downtown Lihu‘e Night Market unfolds on Dec. 11 from 4 to 8 p.m. on Kress Street.

Krystl had a crew building shelves on the same side of the street as the Mo‘olelo Murals artists (Bethany Coma said she’ll be at the Downtown Lihu‘e Night Market, too) worked their magic as Dr. Addison Bulosan came to put up signage for people to know what happens on Fridays on Kress Street.

Kudos to Darin Tann (he got some help from Jaime Arreola, who was representing the Kaua‘i Lifeguard Association) of Keoki’s Paradise for hosting all those people during the Kaua‘i Visitor Industry Charity Walk funds allocation event, and kudos to everyone who took part in any of the virtual walk events that made it possible for Mufi Hannemann and the Hawai‘i Lodging &Tourism Association to help all those nonprofit organizations.

Congratulations, Laura Cristobal, on being the recipient of the Zonta (Club of Kaua‘i) Spirit award from Rebecca Carnate (she said making those pu‘olo bags was not that easy), who had the award for awhile. Is the award going with Laura on her Salty Wahine trips?

OK, Monday is the day Sarah Tochiki brings the Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School Band to play at the Pau Hana Market (check on that recipe contest, too!) that starts at 3 p.m. at Kukui Grove Center in Lihu‘e.
