Happy birthday, Fran Roach and Deborah Dama, who spent their special day helping distribute nearly 200 turkeys to Boys & Girls Club member families with Kelvin Moniz of the Kaua‘i Independent Food Bank. Did you register for your free turkey and fixings yet? Deadline is Monday by 4 p.m. through the KIFB social media pages. The club’s staff and others, including Tina Albao, Asaka Herman, JR Guerrero, and all those B&G helpers, all deserve kudos.
Hawai‘i Foodbank, Kaua‘i Branch board member Diane Keeler got a break from Black Friday craziness (love that online program…definitely helps with the COVID-19 large gatherings and social distancing) to help Wes Perreira, Michelle Panoke, Chyenne Beach, Tish Ruiz (did you find the keys?) and Kate Veatch (great to have the cheerleader doing those pre-distribution warm ups) with the Kokua No Ka ‘Ohana food distribution. Lee Remigio must’ve had warehouse duty so Kate could participate in Anahola, where Ella Kimokeo had her ‘ohana helping (kudos, Tammy Cabacungan, for getting those Alu Like kupuna out and about).
More Black Friday deals are out, as Sara Miura of Deja Vu Surf Hawai‘i said the popular, family-owned store will be doing Black Friday throughout the month (Melissa McFerrin-Warrack said the Kukui Grove Center store had some Friday). And did you check out the Pali Climbing Wall that opened over the weekend?
Nannie Ann Apalla of Keiki to Career (Kaua‘i Reliency Project, too) said the Kilauea drive-in movie has been resecheduled for Nov. 14 after being rained-out on its original date), and you need to pre-book registration for the free movie.
