Happy Camper for Wednesday, February 16, 2022

Kaua‘i Quilt Show volunteers Adela Chavez and Merle Koplan said if you piece together the quilt square that’s available at the show at the Kaua‘i Society of Artists exhibit space at Kukui Grove Center in Lihu‘e and get the completed square back to the show people, that square will be quilted and become one of the donation quilts for next year’s show.

The show is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (special Friday hours go to 8 p.m.) through Feb. 23, and there is no admission charge. Guests need to sign in (for contact-tracing purposes if necessary) and wear face masks. Show volunteers monitor the exhibit area to prevent large gatherings.

The KSA is hosting entry day for the 2022 Spring Show on Feb. 26 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. for the exhibit and show that will open March 5 and run through April 1 at the KSA gallery.

Lessee now, we just had the Downtown Lihu‘e Night Market, so does this mean Dr. Francis and Joyce Takahashi of Miki Macs come to the Pau Hana Market at KGC next Monday? It’s the third Monday of the month.

Oscar Hernandez had just finished his first shift at the Lihu‘e Airport and took advantage of the break before the start of his second shift to check out the market, where people were hoping to find some of that Westside corn that was being sold last week by the Waimea Alumni and Friends Foundation as a fundraiser.

And who won the special Valentine’s Day drawing for “whatever Melissa McFerrin-Warrack was giving away?”
