Almost all the students should be back in class from the winter break, and kudos to Aaron and Carrie Lee Serquina of Slide and Glide Inflatable Fun on challenging the weather in hosting the Slidin’ N Glidin’ “last chance” event over the weekend at the Kapaa Beach Park … yep, there were quite a bit of last chancers enjoying the Sunday weather break!
Thomas Noyes and the Friends of Kamalani are calling for help Saturday (and before, too) to clear the results of all that less-than-Hawaii weather that resulted in more wood littering Lydgate Park. Just show up by 7:30 for a morning of working out and fun.
Mahalo to Tad Miura of Deja Vu Surf Hawaii, Marion Paul, Nannie Apalla and all those Keiki to Career folk on hosting the Kekaha Elementary School ‘ohana to a Mahalo Breakfast (great that it was done before the students come back!) celebrating the improvement in literacy rate at Kekaha School.
Congratulations to Shannon Hiramoto of MachineMachine (they’re located in Warehouse 3540!) on being recognized by Gov. David Ige, and Mayor Derek S.K. Kawakami (Kealoha Takahashi and Carrice Gardner loved being able to wear mu‘umu‘u to the event!) for her efforts at keeping the mu‘umu‘u legacy alive (how many mu‘u were at the Kekaha School breakfast?) through the start of January being Mu‘uMu‘u Month!
And, don’t forget — Saturday is the opening (Jean Souza was able to enjoy some Homemade Ramen while ordering lei for the dignitaries at the Kauai Community Market!) of Kauai Ocean Discovery at the Kukui Grove Center starting at 10 a.m.
