Happy Camper for Wednesday, July 3, 2024

Congratulations to the Kaua‘i Protect Our Nation’s Youth Bronco All-Stars for winning the team’s second state championships on Sunday in Hilo. With all the Yoshimori’s involved with the team, does that mean that Stan’s Hawaiian Style Flying Saucers will be vending at the Kaua‘i Hospice Concert in the Sky when gates open at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday? Ashley Yoshimori said next door there will be Meadow Gold ice cream and baked goods from the team parents … yum!

Ferdinand Dosono, of Kaua‘i Kim Chee, said the crew will be definitely be one of the food vendors at the event where The Pride will be the headline entertainment before the fireworks (Kaua‘i Hospice said mahalo to King Auto Center for making the fireworks possible).

Marlene Duarte of the Grove Farm market (they were hosting an on-site workshop with Jin-Wah and Go Farm Hawai‘i on Saturday) said Kumu’s Cupboard will be appearing for its fundraising a little later in the month … Da Wicked Brew will be doing the two-day Garden Isle Racing Association drag races (they have a flier posted at Sone’s Delicatessen) on Saturday and Sunday after July Fourth.

The big draw for the Fourth is American Idol winner Iam Tongi who will be featured during the America’s Most West Freedom Fest at the Pacific Missile Range Facility on July 3 hosted by the PMRF Morale, Welfare and Recreation. There is no admission fee for the afternoon of food, craft vendors, keiki activities and, of course, a fireworks display.

Happy Fourth of July, Kaua‘i! Stay safe.
