Whoa! Monday is pretty crowded at the Kukui Grove Center food court, as everyone comes out following the weekend. Bernard Apana was catching up with Tommy Rita (everything is “low key” and “off the record”), and Ms. Apana ducked out because she was too shy.
But not before Skipper “Jazz” Caycayon (that’s Tommy Rita’s nickname for him) (have you checked out his book on Koloa drawings?) showed up. When are we going to be able to have him entertain those Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital kupuna again?
Ronnie Matsumura and Ernie Domingo never missed a beat for lunch, and Mark Bonilla got rid of those pumpkin-orange eyes to go to work at Jamba Juice.
Kudos to the Kalaheo Dental Group on the great Halloween candy buyback that was enhanced with COVID-19 safety measures and the effort getting help from the UPS Store at Kukui Grove, and Deja Vu Surf Hawai‘i, which provided a $100 gift certificate for some lucky candy-returner. Great job to all.
OK, we’re done with the elections, so time to go check out the free turkey (and a lot of the fixings) that will be distributed by the Kaua‘i Independent Food Bank. It’s for all the people affected by the pandemic, and because it’s in limited supply, people need to sign up.
