Congratulations, Rose Garabilla and the Kukui Grove Center, on the opening of Rose’s Halo Halo (Melissa McFerrin-Warrack said Rose has her own special halo halo recipe!), Tuesday starting at 11 a.m. next to Rose’s Pinoy Favorites, at KGC. Melissa said there’s another shop, Curvaceous Clothing, planning a “soft” opening this weekend, too — nice way to start the holiday season!
David Chung and The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center crew are back on Friday (Chantelle Rego is woking on the holiday, again!) for the final ARC collection this year. The ARC guys will be busy with The Salvation Army holiday chores, so no collection until after the new year. Friday’s collection at the Kaua‘i Resource Center on Ahukini Road at the Lihu‘e Transfer Station past the airport is from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
And, don’t forget the annual Veterans Day services on Friday at the Kaua‘i Veterans Cemetery starting at 11 a.m., with the Kaua‘i Veterans Council (great job with that Veterans Day Parade last Saturday!) with Grand Marshall Gen. Kenneth Hara, whom everyone wanted to be photographed with. Mahalo, Dr. Kani Blackwell, for that gorgeous Veterans Day lei!
We have the Hawai‘i High School Athletic Association Division II football playoffs on Saturday at Hanapepe Stadium, and Coach Curtis Chong and the Hilo High School girls varsity soccer team (lots of time to check out the Downtown Lihu‘e Night Market Saturday from 5 p.m.) coming for a preseason series with our Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation member school teams on Friday through Sunday.
Does that mean we have time for the special Wailua Bay Creators Fair on Sunday?
