Another big weekend is in store when Mary Lardizabal of the Kapa‘a Middle School ‘ukulele band and choir takes on the fall break movie night on Saturday (Aloha Dance Studio starts its three-weekend Freaky Fridays this Friday evening, too) at Kukui Grove Center, where Kaua‘i Partea will have hot dogs (still haven’t tried the Bubble Hot Dog, Jean Souza said is really good) available for purchase.
Jean Souza of Kaua‘i Ocean Discovery (KOD) invites everyone to make a free wooden replica of the Hokule‘a (are they still in Monterey, California?) with Steve Soltysik (he was having fun with his grandson last week during Fire Prevention Week kickoff) during the KOD hours of 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Don’t forget the Senior Craft Fair on Saturday morning, which starts at 9 a.m. at Lihu‘e Neighborhood Center (don’t worry, Matsuri starts at 9:30 a.m. at Kaua‘i War Memorial Convention Hall), and that’s a lot of time to take in the Kaua‘i Economic Opportunity community health fair that starts at 1 p.m. at the Kaua‘i Philippine Cultural Center … yikes, we’re missing the Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation football games that start at noon at the Bryan J. Baptiste Sports Complex.
And, for those who missed the craft fair at last week’s Grove Farm Market, Edwin Vea said he’s got 50 (!!!) vendors lined up for the Beach House Craft Fair on Sunday, which starts at 9 a.m. (lots of time for shopping before the Kaua‘i Chocolate and Coffee Festival, which starts at 10 a.m. at Kilohana (if there weren’t that many things going on, The Plantation House would be nice for Sunday breakfast).
