Tommy Rita (he got too excited for their Monday morning coffee at the Kukui Grove Center food court…nice conversation about the Patriots) was lucky Eric Rita (he’s waiting for basketball to start up again) was cruising the parking lot and found the keys.
Kudos to Seth Womble (no, he didn’t paint on this project) and his crew of 15 artists (Trysen Kaneshige was able to squeeze in Christian Lardizabal’s Eagle Scout project before starting, too), who completed five murals on five walls (lots of photographers documenting the entire process) around Lihu‘e (even Nannie Apalla of the Kaua‘i Resiliency Project checked out the developing zodiac at WB’s) as part of NirManaFest 2020.
Kudos, too, to Mother Nature, who has been creating explosions of color between the humidity, rain (anyone not experiencing those Monday-afternoon thunderstorms where even the Internet went down?), and sun (yes, there were periods of that, too) over the past week. Hopefully, it’ll clear by Saturday when the moon rises at 6:20 p.m.
OK, time to go check out how all the pumpkins from the Great Pumpkin Giveaway got decorated for the Decorated Pumpkin Contest at the farmers’ market at The Shops at Kukui‘ula.
