Hawai‘i Foodbank Kaua‘i gets $8,000 from Enterprise

PUHI — Wes Perreira, the Hawai‘i Foodbank Kaua‘i branch manager, said anything is possible with a full tank.

“Mahalo, Tim Takeshita, Gabe Bazard and Enterprise Holdings for your help in helping Kaua‘i fight hunger,” Perreira said. “We know with a full tank, everything is possible. With this contribution, we are able to turn the tide on food insecurity.”

Takeshita and Bazard presented the Hawai‘i Foodbank Kaua“i with an $8,000 donation from the Enterprise Holdings Foundation as part of the “Fill Your Tank Program.” The program is an employee-driven intiative focusing on food insecurity in the community.

To aid the Kaua‘i ‘ohana in need, the Hawai‘i Foodbank Kaua‘i is distributing food with King’s Chapel Lihu‘e at the King’s new location in the former Kukui Grove Cinema on Tuesday from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.

The distribution is a first-come-first-serve basis in drive-thru format.

People participating in the distribution are asked to have their government-issued identification ready, drive slowly and remain in their vehicle through the entire event.

“We are fortunate for the funding support from the Kaua‘i United Way for helping us nourish our ‘ohana,” Perreira said.
