HawaiiUSA FCU help keeps everyone fed with donation

LIHU‘E — Karen Shigemoto, branch manager of the Hawai‘iUSA Federal Credit Union Kaua‘i, said the award from the Hawai‘iUSA FCU Foundation represented “continuing support to ensure that no one goes hungry on the island.”

The $3,000 award was accepted by the Hawai‘i Foodbank Kaua‘i with appreciation to help with its network of food pantry programs that cover the island.

Morgan Lopez of the Hawai‘i FCU said the award also serves as the launch for the Hawai‘i Foodbank Kaua‘i that is planning its day-long food drive on Aug. 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at eight different locations around the island, including the Kukui Grove Center at the food court area.

“We’re glad to work together with the Hawai‘iUSA FCU so no one goes hungry,” said Wes Perreira, the Hawai‘i Foodbank Kaua‘i manager.
