Hilo man charged with drug offenses

Police have charged a 39-year-old Hilo man with four drug-related offenses.

Anthony Ramirez was charged Friday with second-degree promotion of a dangerous drug, marijuana possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Ramirez was arrested after a search warrant was executed Friday after several complaints of suspicious activities at a Luana Court home in downtown Hilo were received from the public, police said.

According to police, officers recovered 17.1 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 7.1 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia indicating the distribution and sale of narcotics.

The street value of the confiscated drugs is about $2,700, police said.

Police also seized $4,095 in cash for forfeiture.
