WAILUA HOMESTEADS — Pu‘uopae Bridge in Wailua Homesteads will be closed on Thursday and Friday, March 5 and 6, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., for construction of a new waterline. The dates may change depending on the weather.
Located by the intersection of Kipapa and Pu‘uopae roads, the bridge will close to connect the new segment of waterline to the county Department of Water’s water system, demolish the temporary waterline, and perform related trenching and backfill work.
Intermittent temporary closures from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. will be required over a period of up to two weeks as the contractor completes remaining construction work, which includes new pavement installation and striping, painting and touch-up painting on the bridge guardrail and railing.
