LIHU‘E — Kaua‘i Island Utility Cooperative incumbent directors, the only three candidates in the election that ended at noon Sunday — David Iha, Teofilo Phil Tacbian, and Janet Kass — have been re-elected to the KIUC board.
The reelected directors who will be inaugurated during the Thursday, March 18 Zoom annual board meeting, and will each serve three-year terms ending March 2024.
Iha topped the three candidates with 3,595 votes, followed by Tacbian tallying 3,449 votes, and Kass with 3,168 votes.
KIUC mailed 26,506 ballots and received 4,360 responses for a 16.45% voter turnout.
The election was conducted by Merriman River Group, a Connecticut-based, election-management firm.
