LIHU‘E — The Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation on Monday released its Swimming All-Stars list, whose members parallel those champion swimmers of the different KIF swim events held at the KIF Championship swim meet.
Island School placed eight members on the All-Star list in the girls division, including state 100-yard breaststroke champion Chloe Inouye, who was named an All-Star in two individual events and two relays, along with fellow Voyager Kaimana Kjeldsen. Mahina Dameron was named an All-Star in the 100 butterfly and two relays.
Kaua‘i High School placed All-Stars in eight events, with Kapa‘a High School getting three spots, including the boys 400 freestyle relay. Warrior Ian Raquel was named an All-Star in two individual events and the relay.
Kaua‘i High School freshman Brandon Lin made splashes in the 100 breaststroke and 200 individual medley, as well as being part of two All-Star relay teams. Red Raider Talen Koerte was also named an All-Star in two individual events and the relays.
“The KIF would like to send a huge mahalo out to the YMCA of Kaua‘i and Swim Kaua‘i Aquatics for their tremendous contributions throughout the season, and to all the volunteers who give of their time to make swimming on Kaua‘i a success,” said Island School Athletic Director Jerry Jona.
