LIHU‘E — Internal network upgrades to the Kaua‘i Police Department’s (KPD) dispatch line and its services continued on Tuesday evening.
The County of Kaua‘i’s Information Technology Division said it was performing a network upgrade at 6 p.m. on Tuesday. Internal network maintenance continues in order to improve the county systems and its services.
Officials reported on Wednesday morning that no outages were reported during the upgrade process.
Back on July, 30, KPD experienced a disruption to its nonemergency dispatch line prompting officials to release two alternate nonemergency dispatch lines while IT officials worked on the upgrades through the night.
Chief Todd Raybuck thanked the community for their cooperation during the disruption period.
“We deeply appreciate the public’s patience and understanding during the brief disruption last week. Thanks to the hard work of the County of Kaua‘i IT team, all issues have been resolved. Mahalo for your continued support and cooperation,” Raybuck said.
In the event that there is a disruption to the KPD’s nonemergency dispatch line, 808-241-1711, the public is advised to use the following alternative numbers: 808-755-8516 or 808-652-7837. For any emergencies, please continue to call 911.
