K-PAL wrestling registration opens

LIHU‘E — The Kaua‘i Police Activities League (K-PAL) announced on Tuesday that it is accepting registration from youths ages kindergarten through grade 12 for its wrestling programs in the Waimea, Lihu‘e and Kapa‘a areas.

For wrestlers who have already registered for K-PAL Wrestling for 2023, there is no need to register again.

Registration can be done online at K-PAL Wrestling leaders said the program started in August and runs through November. Space may be limited.

The Waimea wrestling program practices are held Tuesday through Thursdays at Waimea Baptist Church, where kindergarten through grade 12 students practice from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

The Lihu‘e wrestling program practices will be held on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at the Kaua‘i High School cafeteria. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, kindergarten through grade eight students will practice from 3:15 to 4:45 p.m., with high school-aged students working from 4:45 to 6:15 p.m. On Saturdays, the combined group of kindergarten through grade 12 will practice from noon to 2 p.m.

The Kapa‘a wrestling program practices will be held on Thursdays and Fridays at Kapa‘a K-PAL Youth Center, which is located behind Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital. Kindergarten through grade 12 practice is from 4:30 to 6 p.m.
