Kai latest Jr. Dragster winner

MANA — Just one more drag race at the Kauai Raceway Park remains on the Garden Isle Racing Association calendar for 2019.

Nov. 10 race event at the Kauai Raceway Park in Mana is a day race with gates open from 8 a.m. Registration and tech inspection takes place until 10 a.m. when the qualifying rounds start.

Qualifying continues until 1 p.m. with the competition racing starting from 2 p.m. and being finished by 6 p.m.

Results from the Oct. 6 drag race saw Kelsey Kai take the Junior Dragster class aboard his ‘04 Half Scale Outlaw, running a 7.97 second Elapsed Time to reach 82.20 mph on his 7.90 dial in.

Kai beat out Christopher Silva on his ‘05 Half Scale Outlaw that ran a 7.92 ET to reach 82.24 mph on a 7.90 dial in.

Danika Brun edged out Shalia Vierra for third place in the class, and Ryant Sakamoto finished closest to dial in with 7.920 second run on his 7.91 dial in. Sakamoto also walked off with Best Reaction Time honors with a 0.04 reaction time.

Top Gun winner: Calvin Costa, ‘20 T-Bucket, ET 8.04, 169.77 mph, dial in 8.00 over Randy Lawrence (break out), 9.48 ET, 143.93 mph, dial in 9.49.

Pro ET winner: Gilbert Barretto, Jr., ‘67 Camaro, 11.29 ET, 114.20 mph, 11.19 dial in over Kip Furugen, ‘67 Bug, 10.91 ET, 126.12 mph, 10.54 dial in.

Muscle V8 winner: Liko Perreira, ‘90 Mustang, 11.56 ET, 106.56 mph, 11.50 dial in over Alma Koetje, ‘98 Corvette, 12.30 ET, 111.24 mph, 12.24 dial in.

Sport Compact winner: Bronson Tabios, ‘94 Civic, 12.94 ET, 103.81 mph, 12.88 dial in over Ryan Nakata (break out), ‘93 Civic, 13.49 ET, 93.38 mph, 13.60 dial in.

Super Pro winner: Wendall Nonaka, 9.77 ET, 136.99 mph, 9.77 dial in over Brian Dow, ‘65 Mustang, 9.89 ET, 131.94 mph, 9.83 dial in.

Street winner: Bryce Boeder, 17.27 ET, 83.94 mph, 16.90 dial in over Brian Ballesteros (red light), ‘00 Civic, 14.39 ET, 94.08 mph, 14.20 dial in.

Bike ET winner: Sanny Molina, 9.27 ET, 152.23 mph, 8.88 dial in over Matt Kaleiohi, ‘03 Hayabusa, 17.04 ET, 44.94 mph, 8.95 dial in.
