Kapaa Elementary loves the Lions

KAPAA — Kapaa Elementary School officials wants the community to know how much they appreciate the Kapaa Lions Club for its committed partnership and assistance.

“The Kapaa Lions Club has supported the school tremendously this 2024-2025 year,” said Tahara‘a Stein, the school’s vice principal. “Recently, they spent one weekend pressure washing the walkways and the ceiling of our H-wing Building where May Day takes place.”

Additionally, the Kapaa Lions built a keiki-sized picnic table that is used by the kindergarten and Grade 1 students for snack time and outdoor class projects, Stein said.

“This initial table is a template for additional keiki tables that the club will be building next year,” the vice principal said.

The Kapaa Lions Club also spent the first two weekends in May painting the school’s H-lanai where May Day is held.

Beyond preparing the campus for May Day, the Kapaa Lions Club donated funds to the school specifically to purchase snacks for students.

“The club realize teachers often use their own money to provide snacks for students, and they wanted to supplement our Snack Fund,” Stein said. “Their support of our Kapaa Elementary School is so special, and we want the community to know the importance of relationships with community organizations as a means to further school improvement projects. We sincerely thank the Kapaa Lions Club.”
