Kapaa resident earns degree from WGU

SALT LAKE CITY — Donnel Hinkins of Kapaa has earned his master’s degree in cybersecurity and information assurancw from Western Governors University. The online, nonprofit university held commencement ceremonies last fall and earlier this year to celebrate the recent graduation of nearly 22,000 students from across the country.

WGU has recognized 12,920 undergraduate and 8,885 graduate degree recipients, who have completed their degrees since June 1. The average time to graduation for those earning a bachelor’s degree was two years, five months, while the average time to degree for graduate programs was one year, seven months. The average age for those who graduated is 38.
