Kaua‘i Grown win 5 games; baseball crown on O‘ahu

MILILANI — For a group of young players from all over the island who practiced together for just around one month, Kaua‘i Grown did pretty good.

Try winning five games in two days good.

The under-8 age-group squad emerged undefeated at the Mililani High School 8U Pinto baseball tournament last weekend, sweeping three games on Saturday and two more on Sunday, including the championship tilt.

No scores or stats were available at presstime.

For most if not all of the youngsters, the experience was their first time traveling off-island to compete on the diamond.

Sponsors included Ryan Koga and ‘ohana, Lashout Hawai‘i LLC, ‘Ohana Motors, Mauna Loa Helicopter Tours, Keoki’s Paradise, Get Hooked 808, Rancher’s Daughter Reserve, Cushnie Construction, Mark Development and the other team families.
