Kaua‘i road closures: Feb. 4 – Feb. 10

HANALEI — The state Department of Transportation reported a right lane closure on Kuhio Highway is possible in either direction between mile markers 1.2 to 4.04, in the vicinity of Ohiki Road, on Monday, Feb. 6 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for grass cutting and tree trimming.

Princeville

• A right lane closure on Kuhio Highway is possible in either direction between mile markers 0.6 to 1.16, in the vicinity of Ohiki Road and Hanalei Plantation Road, from Monday through Friday, Feb. 6 to 10, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for grass cutting and tree trimming.

Kapa‘a

• A portion of Kawaihau and Pelehu roads will be closed from Monday to Friday, Feb. 6 to 10, from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., for clearing and grubbing, roadway excavation, sidewalk construction, and roadway construction. The project aims to construct a peanut-shaped roundabout, sidewalks, paved shoulders and various other roadway improvements to help improve the safety and operations of a five-way intersection, with an estimated completion date of October 2023.

Wailua

• A nightly, two-lane closure of Kuhio Highway is possible in either direction between mile markers 5.9 and 6.6, in the vicinity of Kapa‘a bypass road and Kuamo‘o Road on Sunday through Friday, Feb. 5 to 10, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., for the Kuhio Highway Short-Term Improvements. Traffic will alternate in both directions through one open lane;

• A right shoulder closure and narrowed lanes of Kuhio Highway are possible in the southbound direction between mile markers 5.7 and 6.7, in the vicinity of Leho Drive and the Kapa‘a bypass road, for the Kuhio Highway Short-Term Improvements.

Koloa

• Portions of Po‘ipu and Pa‘anau roads will be closed from Monday to Friday, Feb. 6 to Feb. 10, weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., for improvements to pedestrian access to the school, including road striping and sidewalk improvements.

Kalaheo

• A right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway is possible in the eastbound direction between mile marker 10.8 to 11.4, in the vicinity of Hokua Road and Kuli Road, on Monday, Feb. 6, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., for tree trimming around utility lines.
