LIHU‘E — Wednesday, the Hawai‘i State Department of Health Kaua‘i District Health Office reported 18 new cases of COVID-19.
All of these cases are residents. Of the 18 new cases, four are children and 14 are adults.
One of the cases is related to mainland travel. The remaining 17 cases are considered community-acquired. Thirteen of the community-acquired infections are close contacts of a previously announced case or are tied to an active cluster. The remaining four cases have no known source of infection.
These cases bring the number of active cases to 115, with 10 hospitalized.
To date, the county has recorded 3,107 cumulative cases.
Free COVID-19 testing is available at the War Memorial Convention Hall in Lihu‘e on weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Because of the Thanksgiving holiday, the convention hall will not have testing on Thursday and Friday. It will reopen Monday, Nov. 29.
Mobile testing is available at the Hanalei Neighborhood Center on Saturday and at the Kapa‘a Neighborhood Center on Sunday both from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
