KOLOA — The Rotary Club of Kaua‘i announced that Ala Kinoiki, the Koloa bypass road, will be closed on Saturday from the Maluhia Road intersection to Po‘ipu Road from 6:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. for the safety of participants in the Old Koloa Sugar Mill Run.
The closure is being conducted by the Kaua‘i Police Department.
The 20th annual Old Koloa Sugar Mill Run presented by Wilcox Health is among the island’s premier 5K, 10K, half marathon and noncompetitive 5K walk events. The first events will start at 7 a.m. at the Maluhia Road junction with Ala Kinoiki.
There will be no race day registration.
Late registration can be done in-person Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Kukui Grove Center in Lihu‘e, where participants are encouraged to pick up their race packets and other race information.
