WAIMEA — Kaua‘i Veterans Memorial Hospital welcomed Loveyle-Roe Moanike‘alananiokamaile Ventura at 10:42 a.m. on Jan. 1 as the island’s first New Year baby.
Faith Campbell, the director of Marketing and Special Project at Wilcox Health, said she checked in with the hospital throughout New Year’s Day, but the first baby born at Wilcox arrived on Jan. 2.
Janeen Ragasa, nurse manager at KVMH’s labor and delivery ward, said Loveyle-Roe measured in at 6 pounds, 11 ounces, and was 20 inches long.
She was born to mother Caitlyn-Amber Owen and father Lopaka Ventura.
