Makena Estacio-Lopez gets first hole-in-one

LIHU‘E — Ocean Course at Hokuala Golf Sales Manager Hualani Duncan said Monday was an exciting day on the course, when Makena Estacio-Lopez aced the eighth hole.

“His exciting shot was witnessed by Alvin Honorato,” Duncan said. “Makena used his pitching wedge on the white tee box at 130 yards. He aimed center of the green, hit a cut into the back right pin location and landed about three feet left of the pin, managing to drop it for his first-ever hole in one.”

To celebrate National Golf Month, golfers at the Ocean Course at Hokuala booking a round online, or through the Hokuala app during August, have an opportunity to win a free foursome of golf. The offer is limited to one entry per round of play.

Over at the Wailua Golf Course in June, Gray Gorney of Kapa‘a used a Cobra seven wood to ace the 173-yard 17th hole, his first hole in one in over 20 years of golfing.
