Nevada man rescued from Hanakapi‘ai Beach

HANAKAPI‘AI BEACH — First responders rescued a 52-year-old Nevada man injured on Hanakapi‘ai Beach Sunday afternoon.

At approximately 2:35 p.m., first responders received a report of an injured hiker on the Hanakapi‘ai Trail, according to county Public Information Officer Alden Alayvilla.

Firefighters with the Hanalei fire station, Rescue 3 aboard Air 1 and American Medical Response responded to the incident.

Rescue 3 aboard Air 1 found the man on Hanakapi‘ai Beach at 3:20 p.m. He was transported to Princeville Airport to awaiting first responders and medics with AMR. He was later transported to Wilcox Medical Center.
