Mayor Derek S.K. Kawakami and the county Agency on Elderly Affairs invite the public to submit nominations for 2019 Outstanding Male and Female Older Americans recognition.
“Each year during the month of May, we pay tribute to adults 65 years and older who have made exceptional contributions to their community through service and/or special projects,” said Kealoha Takahashi, executive for the county Agency of Elderly Affairs.
This year’s Older Americans Month theme is “Contribute, Connect, Create.”
Nomination forms are available at the AEA office in the Piikoi Building of the Lihue Civic Center Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The deadline to submit nominations is March 8. Nominees will be honored at a ceremony on May 3.
