Sadao H. Aoki, 88, of Hilo died Jan. 28 at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Papaaloa, he was a retired from the state Department of Education, a member of Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin and U.S. Army veteran. Public visitation 2-4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 25, at Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin, 398 Kilauea Ave. Casual attire; face masks and social-distancing required. No koden (monetary gifts); memorial donations to Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin. Survived by wife, Annie Aoki of Hilo; sons, Clyde (Donna) Aoki, Keith (Estelle) Aoki and Kevin Aoki of Hilo; daughter, Cyndi (Leroy Lareau III) Aoki-Lareau of Honolulu; sister, Fumie Miyazono of Honolulu; sisters-in-law, Lorraine Aoki and Alice Aoki of Honolulu; seven grandchildren and a great-grandchild; nephews, nieces and cousins.
