Obituaries for February 27

Chiyono Kobayashi, 100, of Kealakekua died Feb. 8. Born in Hilo, she was the retired owner of the former Yamada Furniture Store in Kona, a member of Kainaliu Makai Kumi, former state Health Commissioner, former president of the Kona Business &Professional Women’s Club and a registered Republican. Drive-thru celebration of life 1-3 p.m. Sunday, March 27, at Club Rehab Mauka Clinic, 79-7422 Mamalahoa Hwy., site of the former Yamada Furniture Store. Private inurnment services will follow. Survived by son, Grant T. (Ryoko) Kobayashi of Kealakekua; daughters, Glenna (Charles) Bell of Kealakekua and Charlotte (Daniel) Graham of Honolulu; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Arrangements by Dodo Mortuary.
