Obituaries for January 23

Doroteo “Danny” Daquep Jr., 66, of Pepeekeo died Jan 10 at home. Born in Paoay, Ilocos Norte, the Philippines, he was a farmer and worked at the former Hamakua Sugar Co., Diamond Head Papaya, Mauna Kea Agronomics, King’s Court Pizza and Grill, and Island Fish and Chips. Visitation 4-6 p.m. Saturday (Jan. 29) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Funeral service at 6 p.m. Cremation to follow. Casual attire; no flowers. Survived by wife, Evalyn “Eva” Daquep of Pepeekeo; sons, Doroteo “Teo” Daquep III of Pepeekeo, Croford “Roy” (Nicole) Daquep of Hilo and Scott Daquep of Las Vegas; daughter, Dannielyn (Jereybe) Casil of the Philippines; brothers, Leopoldo “Poldo” (Sheila) Daquep of Paauilo, Antonio “Tony” (Irelan) Daquep of Maui, Nestor (Lelis) Daquep and Ruben (Carol) Daquep of Hilo; sisters, Leonila “Nelly” Guelguel, Ester Daquep and Lorna (Robinson) Agdeppa of Hilo; five grandchildren; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces &nephews. Arrangements by Dodo Mortuary.
