Lillian Nathaniel Kailipaka, 86, of Hilo died Jan. 5 at Legacy of Hilo. Born in Hilo, she was a retired bookkeeper for Central Supply Inc. and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Visitation 9-10 a.m. Tuesday (Jan. 14) at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Mass at 10 a.m. Casual or aloha attire; flowers welcome. Burial at Homelani Memorial Park, section 5. Survived by daughters, Charmaine (Virgil) Day of Maui and Tammy Ann Ryan of Kailua-Kona; sister, Grace Rapoza of Hilo; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. Mabel Aulike Kaipo, 91, of Naalehu died Dec. 27 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Ka‘u, she was a homemaker and member of Ka‘u Civic Club, Halau Na Kupuna O Ka‘u, Kauaha‘ao Congregational Church, Naalehu Senior Center, and volunteer at Naalehu Elementary School for arts and crafts. Burial service noon Sunday (Jan. 12) at Naalehu Community Cemetery. Casual attire; flowers welcome. No koden (monetary gifts). Survived by daughters, Shelley Veincent of Hawaiian Beaches and Robyn (David Bolton) Bonilla of Georgia; sons, Colin (Lani) Kaipo of Oahu, Alvin Keala Kaipo of Mountain View and Blair Mililani Kaipo of California; sister, Eunice Hashimoto of Waiohinu; 14 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. John Newton Nind IV, 81, of Kailua-Kona Jan. 1 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Hackensack, N.J., he was an insurance agent. No services. Survived by wife, Sharon Nind of Kailua-Kona; sons, John R. Nind of California and Darryl (Karen) Nind of Simi Valley, Calif.; daughter, Kimberley (Michael) Akerson of California. Josephine “Pingping” Omandam Racho, 92, of Waikoloa died Jan. 3 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Honolulu, she was a retired sales clerk for City Mill. Sylvia Elizabeth Ravaglia, 42, of Waimea died Jan. 1. Born in Pullman, Wash., she was a writer, artist, equestrian, athlete who competed in Ironman and Ultraman races and graduate of Punahou School and Carnegie Mellon University. Celebration of life 10:30 a.m. Sunday (Jan. 12) at Hawaii Preparatory Academy’s Kennedy Square on the upper campus. Optional run/walk and reception to follow on campus. Dress comfortably. No flowers.
