Marjorie M. Germano, 74, of Hilo died May 19 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Honokaa, she was a retired packer for the former Pacific Tropical Produce. Visitation 5-6 p.m. Friday, June 14, at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Funeral services at 6 p.m. Cremation to follow. Casual attire; no flowers. Survived by husband, Harold J. Harold Iwai, 90, of Rio Vista, Calif., formerly of Hilo, died May 29. Born in Honolulu, he was a U.S. Army veteran, member of Korean War Veterans Association, Hilo Bonsai Club and Honpa Hongwangi Hilo Betsuin. Private services held. No koden (monetary gifts). Karl Komao Kawahara, 83, of Hilo died May 12 at a private care home in Hilo. Born in Holualoa, he was a retired social studies teacher at Hilo High School, U.S. Army veteran and member of the Church of the Holy Cross, Hawaii State Teachers Association-Retired, Fukushima Kenjin Kai and charter member of Lehua Jaycees. Visitation 2-4 p.m. Monday, June 17, at the Church of the Holy Cross, 440 W. Lanikaula St. in Hilo. Celebration of life service at 4 p.m. Aloha attire; no flowers. Francis Kainoa Sha Look Lee, 76, of Waimea died March 30 at home. Born in Hilo, he was an original crew member of the 1976 Hokule‘a voyage, maintenance worker for Hawaii Preparatory Academy, truck driver for HFM and Y. Hata and member of Imiola Congregational Church. Celebration of life for Francis and his late wife, Pat Lee, at noon Saturday, June 29, at the Lee home in Waimea. Survived by sons, Kainoa Christopher (Carol Park) Lee of Kailua-Kona and Keali‘iae‘a Kenneth Lee of Waimea; brother, Kenneth (Brenda) Lee of Hilo; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Thomas “Tom” John Leone, 86, of Kailua-Kona died April 26 at home. Born in New York City, he was a retired meat cutter and U.S. Army Korean War veteran.
