Takato Sokei

Takato Sokei, 97, of Kapaa, passed away at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on June 8, 2025. He was born on Kauai on April 23, 1928. He was a dairyman, rancher, and property manager for Sokei Dairy and Sokei Enterprises. He was an Army veteran who served in the Korean War.

He was preceded in passing by his parents Ryoju and Uto Sokei, siblings Lincoln Sokei, Elmer Sokei, Tokiko Taba, Sadae Sokei, and Ryoko Sokei.

Takato is survived by his loving wife, Josephine Sokei, daughters Ann (William Eddy) Sokei, Allison (Robert) Pratt, four grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Services to be announced at a later date.

Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.

Ronella Moore

Ronella Moore, 95, passed away on June 2, 2025, in Kapaa, Kauai. She was born on June 30, 1929, in Pahoa, Hawaii Island. She was a bookkeeper.

She was preceded in death by her brothers Pat Bontog, Pala Bontog, and Robert Bontog, and sister Bonnie Claiborne.

Ronella is survived by her daughter Roberta (Kent) Zarbaugh, grandsons Kleve (Chantal) Zarbaugh, Kalan Zarbaugh, great-grandson Kaimana Zarbaugh, great-granddaughter Riley Alira Zarbaugh, nephews and nieces from Bontog and Claiborne ohana.

A service will be held at a later date. Burial will take place at Sacred Hearts Church in Pahoa, Hawaii Island.
