Emelia Cubay Sanchez

Emelia Cubay Sanchez, of Kapaa, passed away on June 18, 2025, at the age of 85. She was born on May 28, 1940, in Davao City, Philippines. She was a hotel keeper.

She was preceded in death by her husband Antonio Sanchez Sr.

She is survived by her sons Zim (Luz) Sanchez of the Philippines, Ver (Susana) Sanchez of the Philippines, Greg Sanchez of the Philippines, Tony (Carolina) Sanchez of the Philippines, daughters Marie Sanchez of the Philippines, Lourdes Corpuz of the Philippines, Necie (Resy) Pancha of the Philippines, Rhose Sanchez of the Philippines, Claire Sanchez of the Philippines, Bing (Cesar) Anino of the Philippines, Anna Sanchez of Kauai, Joe Sanchez of Kauai, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A service will be held on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at St. Catherine Church in Kapaa. Visitation from 9 to 10 a.m., followed by Mass. The family requests casual attire and no flowers.

Garden Island Mortuary assisted the family with arrangements.

Lynette Saballa Lumabao

Lynette Saballa Lumabao, of Makaweli, passed away on May 30, 2025, at the age of 80. She was born on Feb. 28, 1945, in Honolulu, Hawaii. She was the head custodian at Waimea Canyon School.

She was preceded in death by her husband George Lumabao, father Edward Saballa Sr., mother Barbara Cabalona Lopez Saballa, and brother Edward Saballa Jr.

She is survived by her sons George A. Lumabao of Pakala, Paul B. Lumabao (Esther) of Hanapepe, daughters Laura Lumabao Nishek (Jerry) of Hanapepe, Pamela Lumabao Cooper (Kim Zarate Amaya) of Omao, Cheryl Lumabao Espanto of Virginia, twelve grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, brothers James Saballa (Peggy) of Ewa Beach, Rodney Saballa of Makaha, sisters Pamela Saballa Zembik (Mike) of Maili, and Yvonne Saballa Valdez of Ewa Beach.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at the residence located at #A28 Makaweli Road (Pakala), starting at 11 a.m. The family requests casual attire and no flowers.
