Roy Scott Strom

Roy Scott Strom, of Kapaa, passed away on May 7, 2025, in Hanamaulu at the age of 75. He was born on Dec. 25, 1949. He was a hair stylist.

He was preceded in death by his son Jason Scott Kanani Strom, mother Violet (Mew) Strom, father Hiram Albert Strom and sister Roseanna Strom Thompson.

He is survived by his son Roy Colby Strom of Koloa, daughters Taffy G. Das of Kapaa, Summer Strom Garcia of Kapaa, Savannah Strom Lida of Pearl City, Oahu, 24 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, brothers Russel Strom of Tahoe, Nevada, Hugh Strom of Kalaheo, sister Vianne (Lyle) Tabata of Lihue, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A private service will be held.

Garden Island Mortuary assisted the family with arrangements.

Scott Muttersbach

Scott Muttersbach, of Koloa, passed away on May 4, 2025, at the age of 71. He was born on Feb. 13, 1954, in San Jose, California. He was a Golf Pro.

He was preceded in death by his parents Galen and Margie Muttersbach.

He is survived by his brother Tyler Joseph Muttersbach of Aptos, California, sister Gay Irene Salisbury of Colorado, bestest friend Rich Ditmars, numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at Kiahuna Golf Course Club House Restaurant starting at 3 p.m. The family requests casual attire and welcomes flowers.

Florentina Moreno

Florentina Moreno, of Kekaha, passed away in Hanapepe on March 21, 2025, at the age of 89. She was born on March 17, 1936, in Kekaha. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 ½ years, Maxie Moreno, father and stepmom Juan and Elena Domingo, mother and stepdad Julian and Enicia Garcia, sister Cristabel Garma, brother and wife Dickie and Angie Dela Cruz, brother Benjamin Domingo Sr., great-granddaughter Zaylyn Rose Aranio, grandson-in-law Peyton Siliado Jr., nephew Ray Allen Dela Cruz, sister-in-law Cheryl Garma, father-in-law Tomas Moreno, mother-in-law Shandra Hernandez, in-laws Raymond and Linda Moreno and Daniel and Sefa Dela Torre.

She is survived by her daughters Myra (Felix) Torres of Hanapepe, Gina (Benjie) Aranio of Omao, sons Thomas (Lisa) Moreno of Kekaha, Maxie (Dolly) Moreno of Kapaa, 13 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, brothers Francisco Domingo of Oahu, Tony (Prima) Domingo of Waimea, brother-in-law Boni Garma, sister Juanita Riel of Oahu, sisters-in-law Gloria Domingo of Puhi, Lourdes Domingo of Kekaha, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A service will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at Garden Island Mortuary in Lawai. Visitation is from 9 to 10:30 a.m., followed by service/Mass at 10:30 a.m. The family requests casual attire and welcomes flowers.

Dorothy Fujii Bacarro Bonilla

Dorothy Fujii Bacarro Bonilla, of Lihue, passed away on June 8, 2025, at the age of 96. She was born on June 10, 1928, in Lihue. She worked as a cocktail waitress at Club Jetty and then as a housemaid for Mabel Wilcox.

She was preceded in passing by her beloved husband Michael Bonilla Sr., parents Angel Bacarro, Okimi Daguay, stepfather Alberto Daguay, siblings Catherine, Alfred and James.

Dorothy is survived by her children Anita B. Kaneakua, Helen Marie (Wesley) Uchida, Virgina (Larry) Texeira, Michael (Thelma) Bonilla Jr., Jo Ann (Keith) Silva, Wayne (Audrey) Bonilla, Lola (Charlie) Bonilla, 18 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Private services were held by the family.

Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.

Marleen Leilani Kaluahine

Marleen Leilani Kaluahine, 85, passed away on June 13, 2025, in Lihu‘e. She was born on April 11, 1940, in Hawai‘i. She was an accountant clerk for Kaua‘i Surf.

She was preceded in death by her parents Johnny Cowboy, Harriet Ornellas, husband Mathew Kaluahine, brother John Ornellas Jr., sisters Madeline Yokoyama and Beverly Valpoon.

She is survived by her daughters Sherry Kaluahine-Cacal, Tweety Juarez, Pam (Teddy) Arroyo, son Matthew “Kamalei” (Jenna) Kaluahine, brothers Raymond (Valerie) Ornellas, Michael (Nora) Ornellas, Stanley “Haoli Boy” (Caroline) Ornellas, sisters Evelyn Takenaka, Kimo (Bernie) Ornellas and Keoki Ornellas.

Friends may visit the family on Saturday, Aug. 2, 2025, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Kapa‘a. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m., followed by the service at 9:45 a.m. A private burial will be held.
