John Gordon
John Gordon, of Princeville, Hawaii, passed away on March 11, 2025, in his home surrounded by family.
John served time in the U.S. Navy which is how he discovered our beautiful islands. He relocated his family to Oahu in 1964.
John had a 31-year career with the Federal Aviation Administration on Oahu, where he put his degree in Engineering from the University of Missouri to good use. In his position as Engineer and Manager he spent years monitoring the entire Pacific Sector and spent time on several of the Pacific Islands.
John and his wife Rosalie relocated to Kauai in the mid 1990’s after retiring from the FAA. John’s time on Kauai was divided between his many loves, serving on the Princeville Board, volunteering as a tour guide at Na Aina Kai Gardens, as a Member of the North Shore Lions Club, Ham Radio community responder and most memorably as Jazz with John on Tuesdays on KKCR Radio.
John is survived by his wife Rosalie, daughter Leslie, son Michael, granddaughter Phoebe, and grandson Ian.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Kauai Christian Academy in Kilauea on July 12, 2025, at 10 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, John’s family would appreciate donations in his name to Kauai Humane Society, Kauai Hospice Care or KKCR Radio.
