Ono Pops delivered to Kaua‘i Hospice staff

LIHU‘E — There were enough Ono Pops for the entire gathering of the Kaua‘i Hospice staff, Wednesday morning during the staff meeting that was punctuated with the delivery of Ono Pops.

The delivery was prompted when Misha Laney, the owner of Aloha ‘Aina Juice Cafe in the Hokulei Village ordered 30 Ono Pops for Kaua‘i Hospice under the 50 Percent Match Donation program offered by Ono Pops.

“I love Ono Pops,” Laney said. “And I like the Kaua‘i Hospice, too. Ordering from Ono Pops is support for our local business so this is a no-brainer. I just came along with the check.”

Askew said Ono Pops bent the rules, slightly to take care of the order.

“Four flavors, 15 of each flavor,” Askew said. “Normally, the 50 Percent Match would mean Misha orders 30, and we chip in 15, or 50 Percent. But we couldn’t let people come up short so we matched the 30 she ordered.”

Askew said the 50 Percent Match program applies to people wanting to thank and treat first responders, healthcare workers. Delivery is free island-wide for orders of 15 Pops or more.

“Ono Pops is having a delivery to the Wilcox Health, next week,” Askew said. “An Ono Pop fan, a part-time Kaua‘i resident, wanted to donate to the Kaua‘i medical community. We’ll do the 50 percent donation match so 75 Ono Pops will be delivered to Wilcox Hospital targeting the Emergency Room staff, and the specimen collection staff.”
