‘Pirates’ coming to Lihu‘e Library on Wednesday

LIHU‘E — The Hawai‘i Opera Theatre will be presenting “Pirates of Penzance” at the Lihu‘e Public Library on Wednesday starting at 5 p.m.

The performance that is free is designed for children in kindergarten through grade eight, and includes opportunities for the audience to interact as characters in the play as well as offstage chorus members.

Running approximately 45 minutes, the presentation will include a short post-show question and answer period.

The Lihu‘e Public Library is the largest library on the island, located on Hardy Street across from the Elsie Wilcox Elementary School, and adjacent to St. Michael & All Angels’ Episcopal Church.

The library is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday and Wednesday. Tuesday and Thursday hours are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Friday hours are from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. It is closed on Saturday and Sunday.
